Position Title: Medical Office Administrator
Practice: Cross River Cardiology
Location: Lenoir, NC

Position Description:

Managing and final responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the practice, to include:

  • Hiring, training, and supervising administrative staff.
  • Managing finances, including budgets and payroll.
  • Collaborating with medical personnel to develop and assess business strategies.
  • Monitoring inventory and placing orders for resupply.
  • Ensuring our practice complies with industry regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Interacting with patients and addressing any concerns or complaints.
  • Organizing patient records/EHR (Athena) Super User level of knowledge.
  • Conducting regular staff meetings and performance reviews.
  • Overseeing schedules to ensure high efficiency and operational readiness.
  • Working as a team to ensure the practice runs effectively and meets objectives.

Requirements:

  • Degree in business and/or healthcare management or related field or demonstrated prior experience.
  • Management experience in a medical practice (Preferably Cardiology).
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Leadership qualities, with good communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to work autonomously to make effective decisions.
  • Solid understanding of finance management.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Previous experience working in a medical office or hospital setting is required.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is required (Athena experience is highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of managed care principles and utilization management processes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Knowledge of Cardiology is not required but is strongly preferred.
  • Vascular and coding experience is a plus.
